Hello, I'm Peter - a medical doctor, entrepreneur, health economist and Bean founder. The seed of Bean's offering was borne out of our shared passion for, knowledge and experience of, Africa.

As a vastly diverse continent, with great natural beauty, many different cultural traditions, a booming population, growing economy and an emerging middle class, Africa is attracting significant multi-national investment.

From our shared love of this amazing continent, culture and its potential; Bean flourished thanks to our team's own independent nature, entrepreneurial spirit and out-of-the-box thinking. Together, we knew we could bring so much to the table; offering significant value to Governments, NGOs, Insurers, virtual health providers, brokers and multi-national clients through innovative, intuitive and intelligent health and medical sector solutions. We strive to collaborate with our partners to deliver the very best advice possible, while managing their employer benefit risks accordingly and enhancing the health, risk and savings of the African population, to in turn make a real impact on the continent.

MAKING OUR OWN STAMP ON AFRICA

Markets have changed, but health and employer benefits have remained much the same. Today, participants are more inter-connected and events propagate at such high speed, often firms won't get a chance to react. The data now available allows us to gain far deeper insights into the effects of market behavior on health and benefits systems. New analytics techniques mean we can gain these insights much quicker and action them much more efficiently. As in all areas of business and life, focus is key. Our approach is three-fold. We offer solutions; prove our value to clients in that solution area, and then build out from there.

COLLABORATION WITH THE VERY BEST

Another differentiator that is becoming easier to harness, is global talent sourcing. With global collaboration now far easier, startups can look at a much broader talent pool, particularly when sourcing for roles that don't require regular on-site time with clients and customers. Bean was borne out of passion and proven expertise and a desire to develop solutions to complex risk management challenges in Africa.
